Why Donate Securities and Stocks?
Donating securities instead of cash to Veterans’ House Canada offers several benefits:
- When you donate appreciated securities, capital gains tax does not apply.
- You receive a charitable tax receipt equal to the full current value of your donated securities.
- Because you avoid paying capital gains tax, the full value of your securities donation goes to veterans in need, letting you give more than if you had sold the securities first, and donated the remaining cash.
